EU digital rulebook simplification wins ECB backing with caveats

( March 10, 2026, 18:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Proposals to simplify the EU digital legislative framework are an "important reform" and have the backing of the European Central Bank, it said in an opinion published on Tuesday. It particularly welcomed  the "Digital Omnibus" for its simplified arrangements for government-to-business and business-to-government data sharing and Data Act provisions governing the processing of personal data. But it also warned that a proposed “single-entry point” — in which companies can submit one notification to comply with multiple reporting duties for data or cybersecurity breaches — "is not effective in reducing the reporting burden for financial entities."The opinion is attached....
