EU net emissions fell sharply in 2023 driven by energy sector, commission says

The bloc is on track to meet its goal of cutting emissions by 55 percent by 2030, the commission said.EU net emissions fell 8.3 percent in 2023, marking one of the two largest annual drops in decades — along with the 9.8 percent fall registered during the Covid pandemic — the European Commission has said, publishing its latest Climate Action Progress Report....
