UniCredit aims to increase stake in Commerzbank to more than 30 percent

( March 16, 2026, 09:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Italian bank UniCredit is planning a voluntary exchange of shares to increase its stakes in Commerzbank from 26 percent to more than 30 percent. The offer is expected to be formally launched at the beginning of May, with a view to close the transaction in the first half of 2027. UniCredit said conditions would include "merger control, foreign investment control, and EU foreign subsidies clearances, regulatory clearances (including, but not limited to, clearance by the European Central Bank and German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority in Germany)."Press release is attached....
