EU court saw significant increase in new cases last year, stats show

( March 21, 2025, 10:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The year 2024 was ''extraordinary'' both in terms of new cases filed to the EU's Court of Justice and in the number of cases completed by the institution as a whole, the court said when publishing its latest statistics today. Last year, 920 cases were brought to the top court, representing an increase of 12 percent. But the institution also completed 863 cases, an increase of 10 percent. In comparison, the lower-tier General Court completed 922 cases last year, improving on its average in recent years. It also managed to reduce the stock of pending cases to 1,302, the lowest figure since 2015.The statement is attached. ...
