Comporti currently serves at the Italian supervisor, the Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa, and on ESMA's management board. He is due to succeed Verena Ross for a five-year mandate when her term ends in October. His appointment still requires formal approval from the Council of the EU, which represents EU governments.
