( July 29, 2026, 02:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia's Financial Services Authority, or OJK, which oversees the country's banking and financial sector, said Monday it is expanding the use of digital financial innovation, including real-world asset tokenization, to improve financing access for small- and medium-sized enterprises, particularly in eastern Indonesia. OJK said tokenization could be applied to commodity supply chains, warehouse receipts and regional infrastructure financing, extending beyond large-value assets. The regulator also said several digital finance business models have progressed from its regulatory sandbox toward market implementation, including tokenized gold, tokenized government securities through fund management contracts, tokenized property interests, rupiah-denominated stablecoins and custody services for digital financial assets.
