UK financial promotions rules for consumer credit come under review from FCA

( April 29, 2026, 00:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's Financial Conduct Authority wants to amend "complex" and "outdated" financial promotions rules for consumer credit, according to a proposal released on Wednesday. The FCA said that the introduction of the Consumer Duty means that some requirements are duplicative and can be removed. The regulator is also seeking views on whether it should change how Annual Percentage Rates are communicated in credit advertising. Lenders and industry groups have until June 17 to provide feedback.Statement follows....
