EU's planned capital market infrastructure reforms open for feedback

( December 15, 2025, 13:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: The European Commission has opened an eight-week consultation on plans to strengthen the bloc's capital markets by "removing regulatory, supervisory and operational barriers". The proposals include transferring supervisory powers to the EU market watchdog for certain market infrastructures — significant clearing houses, trade repositories, trading venues, central securities depositories, and cryptoasset service providers — as well as bolstering supervisory convergence tools and removing barriers to cross-border services and settlement.
