Firm Checker launched by UK FCA to fight financial crime

( December 10, 2025, 00:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's Financial Conduct Authority has launched its Firm Checker tool, designed to help consumers find out whether a firm is authorized to provide services, as it seeks to reduce fraud. The FCA found that around 800,000 people lost money to investment- or pension‑related scams in the 12 months to May 2024. Sheree Howard, the FCA's executive director of authorizations, said consumers should use this tool if they are considering an investment, pension opportunity, loan or other financial service.Statement follows....
