US SEC’s Atkins floats plans to 'incentivize' IPOs for smaller companies

By Neil Roland ( December 2, 2025, 22:01 GMT | Insight) -- US Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins floated plans to incentivize initial public offerings for smaller companies and ease executive pay requirements. He said the SEC should consider building on the IPO “on-ramp” set up by Congress in the 2012 Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act. This legislation let newly public companies comply with some disclosure requirements on a delayed basis. “Allowing companies to remain on the 'on-ramp’ for a minimum number of years, rather than forcing them off as soon as the first year after the initial offering, could provide companies with greater certainty and incentivize more IPOs," he said.US Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins floated plans to incentivize initial public offerings for smaller companies and ease executive pay requirements....
