EU financial supervisors to focus on resilience, consumer protection in 2026

( October 16, 2025, 10:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Supervisory Authorities have set out a 2026 work plan which aims to strengthen the financial system’s digital resilience, protect consumers, and identify risks that could undermine financial stability. The plan for collaboration between the European Banking Authority (EBA), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) includes assessing risks linked to global tensions and strengthening cooperation across financial sectors, the ESAs said in a statement on Thursday. They also aim to oversee major technology providers, improve financial education, monitor securitization markets, and support the review of sustainable finance rules.Press release follows.
