Novis loses actions against EU Commission, insurance supervisor

( August 18, 2025, 15:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Slovak insurance company Novis has lost its cases against both the European Commission and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, according to orders of the EU General Court published in the bloc’s Official Journal today. The company had sought the annulment of a September 2022 formal opinion of the commission, and of a May 2022 recommendation of Eiopa. Novis argued that both institutions had breached its right to be heard by keeping the acts and their preparation secret from it. Novis must bear its own costs, and also pay those incurred by the commission and Eiopa.See attached court orders and link to the EU Official Journal (here and here)...
