Drop in complaints against financial firms reported by UK ombudsman

( August 7, 2025, 09:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Complaints filed by consumers against financial services firms have fallen to their lowest level in over a year, the UK Financial Ombudsman Service said. Some of the most complained about issues, including perceived unaffordable lending and fraud and scams, have seen far fewer complaints in the first quarter of the 2025/26 financial year. In that period, the most complained about issue continued to be car finance, the FOS said. The drop in complaints was partly attributed to the introduction in April of a 250 pound charge for claims management companies to refer a case to the FOS on behalf of a consumer.  Statement below....
