EU rules on third-country banking services don't need to be amended, EBA says

( July 23, 2025, 14:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU rules on how core banking services should be provided in a member state don’t require amendment but could benefit from clarification, the European Banking Authority has said. In a report on third-country banking services, the EBA said while the rules restrict direct service provision from third countries, they offer flexibility through exemptions. The authority said a clarification of those specific provisions with other sectorial legislation could be beneficial to authorities and market participants.  Press release follows.
