UK central counterparties consulted on future regulatory framework

( July 18, 2025, 15:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK central counterparties have been asked for feedback to a consultation from the Bank of England on the future of the regulatory framework for the sector. The central bank said that the new rules will enhance resilience and promote innovation. The bank is also consulting on a specific power that allows the BOE to give permission to a central counterparty, central securities depository or critical third party for an applicable rule to be modified or waived.
