UK finance ministry reforms mortgage rules to boost homeownership

Details are due ahead of the annual Mansion House address, the UK finance minister's annual speech to the financial services sector. The so-called Leeds Reforms will allow mortgages at over 4.5 times a buyer’s income, following Bank of England recommendations. The changes come alongside the creation of a permanent mortgage guarantee scheme and a review by the Financial Conduct Authority of the mortgage lending market.   Statement follows....
