UK financial watchdog spells out actions to back government's growth mission

( July 10, 2025, 13:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK Financial Conduct Authority outlined its policy actions supporting the government's economic growth mission as it published its annual report, an update on its secondary objective of growth and competitiveness, and a letter to the finance minister. The FCA said it had completed 10 of the 50 growth-focused policies. Upcoming reforms include a new prospectus regime, targeted support for pensions and investments, and a sandbox to support trading on the Pisces private market. It also said that its finacial crime fight saw it close 1,600 websites suspected of promoting financial services without permission this year. FCA chief Nikhil Rathi additionally reiterated a call to government to help the watchdog understand how much risk to allow in the financial system.Press release follows.
