UK’s FCA to remove Systematic Internaliser regime for bonds and derivatives

( July 4, 2025, 16:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's investment firms and trading venues are being consulted to remove the Systematic Internaliser regime for bonds and derivatives. The regime regulates investment firms dealing on their own account when executing client orders outside of regulated trading venues imposing specific transparency and conduct obligations. The watchdog said the proposal would reduce unnecessary burden. Commenting on the proposal, trade group UK Finance's Director for secondary markets and post trade Yvonne Deane Harte said: “The FCA’s proposals to remove the Systematic Internaliser regime for bonds and derivatives is a key step in streamlining regulation.” The consultation is open until Sept. 10.Consultation is attached....
