EU law harmonizing certain aspects of insolvency rules adopted by governments

The proposal, unveiled in December 2022, forms part of a broader package to advance the EU’s Capital Markets Union. Last year, governments reached consensus on key elements of the draft directive, including measures to safeguard the insolvency estate, directors’ obligations to initiate proceedings, and transparency requirements.
