Text postponing Basel III bank trading rules to 2027 published

( June 12, 2025, 10:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission today published the implemented act — a delegated regulation — pushing back the deadline for implementing the market risk prudential requirements for banks under Basel III standards. The new deadline is Jan. 1, 2027. The Fundamental Review of the Trading Book is part of internationally agreed Basel III standards. The delay was justified by postponements in the US and in the UK. The text is now subject to the scrutiny of the European Parliament and Council for three months, and it can be extended for another three-month period.See the press release below and the attached delegated act....
