UK financial watchdog creates deputy chief executive role as remit grows

( June 10, 2025, 11:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's Financial Conduct Authority has appointed Sarah Pritchard as deputy chief executive, a new role created as the watchdog's remit is growing with the integration of the Payment Systems Regulator, regulation of stablecoins and cryptoasset businesses as well as buy-now-pay-later activities. Pritchard joined the FCA in June 2021, and in her most recent role she led the work on consumers and competition. “The international environment is complex, our remit is growing and expectations of us continue to evolve. The board fully support Sarah taking on the role of deputy chief executive to help Nikhil lead the FCA day-to-day and cultivate our key relationships," said FCA chair Ashley Alder.Statement follows....
