UK man charged over unauthorized GBP1 million investment fund

( April 15, 2025, 10:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A UK man has been charged with managing investments without authorization and misleading investors, generating more than 1 million pounds in the process. John Burford, the sole director of Financial Trading Strategies, accepted money from more than 100 investors without authorization from the Financial Conduct Authority, gave advice on trading opportunities as well as investments in three "Tramline" funds, the watchdog alleges. The FCA alleges that Mr. Burford repeatedly misrepresented the value of the funds and the amount of money he had lost while trading. He will appear before Westminster Magistrates Court in London on May 23, 2025. Statement below....
