US FTC Republicans say statement on labor antitrust exemption 'senseless'

( January 14, 2025, 17:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Republican US Federal Trade Commissioners Andrew Ferguson and Melissa Holyoak issued a joint dissent on the agency's enforcement policy statement on exemptions for protected labor activity by workers from antitrust liability. The commissioners disagreed with the timing of the statement, which comes "mere days before the inauguration of President Trump." Ferguson said, "As I have said before, this is not the time for the Biden-Harris Commission to announce policy changes, let alone declare how the agency will exercise prosecutorial discretion going forward. Indeed, it is senseless for the Biden-Harris Commission to announce, on its way out the door, its plans for the future. It has no future."See attached document....
