Most people who acted on ‘finfluencer’ advice lost money, UK bank TSB says

( July 9, 2025, 10:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: More than half of people who've acted on social media financial advice have lost money, UK bank TSB said today. Four-fifths of respondents to TSB’s survey of just over 1,800 consumers said they'd seen financial advice content on social media that they weren’t searching for, and nearly three-quarters for those aged 25-34 had acted on this advice. The bank warned consumers to be wary of opportunities that seem too good to be true. The FCA has acted in recent months against illegal financial influencers, or “finfluencers.”Statement below....
