Israeli ministers Smotrich, Ben-Gvir sanctioned in UK, Australia, Canada

( June 10, 2025, 14:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Israel's finance minister Bezalel Smotrich, and its national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, have been hit with sanctions “and other measures” by authorities in the UK, Norway, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, for inciting violence against Palestinians in the West Bank. Foreign ministers said in a joint statement that Smotrich and Ben-Gvir had “incited extremist violence and serious abuses of Palestinian human rights.” They added: “Extremist rhetoric advocating the forced displacement of Palestinians and the creation of new Israeli settlements is appalling and dangerous.”Statement below....
