UK FCA's name and shame proposal 'misleading,' lawmakers conclude

In a damning report concluding an inquiry into the almost universally unpopular proposals, the House of Lords committee said the regulator's claim that its approach was aligned with other international regulators was "misplaced and misleading." The plan risked damaging firms that were named but where ultimately no enforcement action was taken and was at odds with the regulator's growth and competitiveness objective, the report said.
