EU's ‘omnibus’ scope cut, green plans scrapped under lead lawmaker's proposal

( June 12, 2025, 15:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU's “omnibus” package aimed at simplifying sustainability reporting rules should reduce the number of companies covered by the amended directives and eliminate mandatory climate transition plans, according to a proposal by Swedish lawmaker Jörgen Warborn. The center-right politician, who is leading the European Parliament’s work on the law, proposes that sustainability reporting would only be required for companies with a net turnover above 450 million euros and more than 3,000 employees worldwide. The proposal must still undergo internal discussions among lawmakers before the parliament wraps up its position.Full report attached....
