EU leaders to suggest actions to support competitiveness, draft says

( March 10, 2026, 09:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU heads of states and governments will suggest a set of actions to support the bloc's competitiveness at their next summit on March 19 and 20, according to a draft of the final conclusions obtained by MLex. They will call in particular to tweak the merger guidelines to support the scale-up of companies, to set up “targeted and proportional” Made in Europe rules, to amend prudential rules for banks, and to act against high energy prices. They will also request for member states and the European Parliament to reach agreements on all pending "omnibus" simplification packages by the end of the year. Document is attached....
