AI-related rules not needed yet, UK banks tell prudential watchdog

( February 16, 2026, 17:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK banks have told the prudential watchdog that there's no need yet for AI-specific guidance or regulations. Representatives from regulated firms told the UK's Prudential Regulation Authority that they didn't see a case for a Bank of England or PRA  AI sandbox at this time, as the Financial Conduct Authority's Supercharged Sandbox and AI Live Testing initiatives were providing sufficient offerings for testing purposes.  Summary attached....
