EU capital market reform negotiations among member states enter home stretch

Ireland, which is chairing talks among member states until the end of the year, is expected to put forward a compromise proposal on the remaining contentious issues — including ESMA’s governance and market-data rules — for discussion by national experts in the coming days.Significant work remains for EU countries to reach common ground on the proposed package to better integrate the bloc’s capital markets, before EU finance ministers meet in Luxembourg on Oct. 9....
