It sits alongside recent calls to prohibit the pursuit of superintelligent artificial intelligence in the UK and, most importantly, alongside Anthropic Chief Executive Dario Amodei’s more limited plan for industry-coordinated “pacing” of AI development, which made headlines over the weekend. Anthropic rival OpenAI on Monday said it now supports "stronger UK rules" for companies developing the most powerful models.
