EU governments' first market integration compromise proposals outlined

( September 7, 2026, 10:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Representatives of EU governments have been asked to consider changes to the European Commission's plans for rules for asset managers and the governance of the European Securities and Markets Authority in planned legislation which aims to improve supervision and integration of EU capital markets, documents from their meeting, obtained by MLex, show. The two discussion papers prepared for their meeting by Ireland, which chaired the talks last week, proposed discussion on changes to the commission’s proposal on intra-group delegation and a depository passport for asset managers, and the balance of powers between ESMA’s board of supervisors and a new Executive board.See attached draft compromises....
