Indonesia eases rules on export-proceeds retention for qualifying mining companies

( September 1, 2026, 02:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia will allow qualifying mining exporters to retain 30 percent of their foreign-exchange export proceeds in the domestic financial system for at least three months, instead of the general requirement to retain all proceeds for 12 months. The optional facility applies to export declarations submitted from Sept. 1 and is available to mining companies with a shareholder from the US, China, Hong Kong, Australia or Canada holding at least a 10 percent stake. The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs said Saturday that it has identified 64 exporters as potentially eligible, with the list to be reviewed monthly.Statement follows (in Indonesian)....
