( August 21, 2026, 06:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia plans to deepen its bullion market through an integrated market ecosystem that will include a mineral and strategic commodities exchange operating from Jan. 1, 2027, Coordinating Economic Affairs Minister Airlangga Hartarto said Thursday. The exchange is intended to strengthen domestic price discovery and support creation of an Indonesia Reference Price for strategic commodities. The government also wants the newly launched Indonesia Bullion Market Association to develop a gold registry and traceability system, industry standards and market data, while integrating bullion banking, refining and manufacturing, physical trading, gold exchange-traded funds, clearing and settlement.
