( August 5, 2026, 06:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia's Financial Services Authority, or OJK, has issued new rules requiring online lenders to submit complete, accurate and timely financing transaction data through the regulator's reporting system, strengthening data-based supervision of the industry. OJK Regulation No. 8/2026 will also allow lenders to request borrower information for financing decisions, risk management and regulatory compliance, subject to restrictions on its use. Online lenders must appoint a board director responsible for transaction reporting, establish written data policies, conduct periodic internal audits and implement internal controls over reporting systems. The regulation also prohibits lenders and their industry association from sharing or selling user information to third parties except where permitted by law.
