UK govt accepts call for regulators to clarify AI rules for financial services

The report, commissioned by the UK finance minister and developed by executives at Starling Bank and Lloyds Banking Group, recommended retaining the current regulatory approach while providing “targeted clarification or adaptation where needed.” It also called for voluntary industry-wide disclosures distinguishing regulated from unregulated AI-enabled guidance and warned that AI-related risks require a cross-sector approach.Statement follows.
