IT risk is biggest category needing attention for US banks under $100bn, Fed says

By Neil Roland ( June 3, 2026, 21:02 GMT | Insight) -- Information technology and operational risk, including cybersecurity risk, represent the largest category of Matters Requiring Immediate Attention for banks with US assets under $100 billion, the Federal Reserve said. These firms include US community banks, which have assets below $10 billion as of the end of 2025, and regional US banks, whose assets fall between $10 billion and $100 billion, according to the Fed’s semi-annual Supervisory and Regulation report. For foreign banks with assets below $100 billion, the largest share of Matters Requiring Immediate Attention relate to Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering and Office of Foreign Assets Control Compliance.Information technology and operational risk, including cybersecurity risk, represent the largest category of outstanding Matters Requiring Immediate Attention for banks with US assets under $100 billion, the Federal Reserve said....
