UK-authorized alternative investment funds reform set out in 7-week consultation
( May 21, 2026, 11:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK plans to allow depositaries of certain investment funds to outsource some registration and safekeeping functions to help them continue investing in private markets have been put forward in a seven-week consultation by the Financial Conduct Authority. The financial services watchdog said that under the current regime, depositaries legally hold private assets even though they do not manage them, thereby exposing them to legal, financial and reputational risks and making some unwilling to continue offering services to these funds. The consultation is due to close on July 9.Statement is attached....
