US SEC seeks feedback on stock-trades database with aim to protect investors’ privacy

The Consolidated Audit Trail warehouse, which collects data on stocks and options orders and trades, was created to give the SEC a way to track market instability after the 2010 “flash crash” in which stocks and options yo-yoed without apparent explanation.
