UK investment advice rules to be simplified in new proposal

( March 25, 2026, 09:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK financial advice firms may be able to provide simpler advice to consumers after a new proposal from the Financial Conduct Authority. The regulator said "simplified advice is not new," but added that "in practice it is not widely offered" due to uncertainty in the watchdog's rules and concerns about potential liabilities. The new proposal, open to feedback until May 22, includes simplifying and consolidating the suitability framework into one set of common rules and giving firms greater flexibility in how they design and deliver ongoing advice services. Statement is attached....
