UK regulator publishes rules to protect Buy Now Pay Later users from July

( February 11, 2026, 00:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Firms offering previously unregulated Buy Now Pay Later deals will need to provide customers with clear details about the agreements, carry out affordability checks, and offer support to customers in financial difficulty, final rules published by the Financial Conduct Authority show. The final framework for Buy Now Pay Later agreements — formally known as Deferred Payment Credit — published on Wednesday is due to come under regulator's oversight from July. Consumers will also be able to complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service if problems arise, the FCA said.Statement is attached....
