Nine US banks limited access to loans for politically conservative services, OCC finds

By Neil Roland ( December 10, 2025, 23:54 GMT | Insight) -- Nine of the largest US banks — including JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America — improperly curtailed loans for politically conservative services such as Arctic energy exploration, coal mining, immigration detention centers and assault weapons during the Biden administration, a preliminary US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency review found.
