UK pension rules to be modernized under new proposals

( December 11, 2025, 00:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK investment platforms and firms operating pension products have seen new proposals from the Financial Conduct Authority to modernize pension rules. The FCA is seeking to enable engaging digital tools that give consumers clearer pension projections. It is also seeking to make it easier to transfer or consolidate pension pots. The watchdog has also released its rules for the “targeted support” framework which will allow firms to provide recommendations to consumers based on common characteristics. The consultation runs until Feb. 12. The FCA also released two joint statements with the Financial Ombudsman Service and with the Information Commissioner’s Office to clarify, respectively, how redress will work and how firms can comply with direct marketing and data protection rules.Statements are attached....
