ABLV loses ECJ appeal over Single Resolution Board's no-resolution decision

( December 11, 2025, 09:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Defunct Latvian bank ABLV has lost its legal dispute at the EU Court of Justice against the Single Resolution Board over its collapse in 2018. The lender had sought to overturn a ruling by the lower General Court that said the board was correct not to adopt a resolution scheme for the failing bank. Judges at the Eu's highest court backed the SRB’s power to issue a decision against resolution after a "failing or likely to fail" assessment. They said the appeal must be dismissed in its entirety.Judgment attached. Case reference is C-602/22. ...
