Indonesia updates rules on trading of crypto, other digital assets

( December 5, 2025, 03:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority, or OJK, said on Thursday it has issued an update to its digital financial-asset trading rules that expands the scope of regulated assets to cover not only crypto but also other digital financial assets and digital-asset derivatives. The regulator said the measure aims to strengthen the role and broaden the mandate of digital financial-asset trading providers. The rule sets out, among other things, the categories of digital financial assets, criteria for assets traded on licensed exchanges and restrictions on trading assets outside the exchange-approved list. It also introduces new requirements for digital-asset derivative trading, including prior approval for exchange-listed products, dealer notification duties, margin rules and consumer knowledge-test obligations.Statement follows (in Indonesian)....
