Eurogroup president Donohoe resigns to become World Bank managing director

( November 18, 2025, 13:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Paschal Donohoe has announced his immediate resignation as Eurogroup president and Ireland's finance minister to take up the role of managing director and chief knowledge officer of the World Bank Group, based in Washington DC. Donohoe was reappointed as head of the Eurogroup, the informal body gathering finance and economy ministers from the euro area, in July. The Eurogroup will select a new president as soon as possible and the Cyprus finance minister Makis Keravnos will serve as the acting Eurogroup president in the meantime, it said in a statement.Statement follows....
