Singapore trials using wholesale CBDC for interbank lending settlement

( November 13, 2025, 04:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Singapore’s central bank has completed a live trial using wholesale central bank digital currency to settle interbank overnight lending on its Singapore Dollar Test Network, marking the first live issuance of a Singapore dollar wholesale CBDC. The pilot, conducted with DBS, OCBC and UOB, recorded transactions in banks’ official books and regulatory filings. The Monetary Authority of Singapore said the shared ledger platform allows banks to use CBDC as a common settlement asset, automate contractual payment terms and conduct simultaneous cash-and-securities settlement to reduce risk.
