Major UK banks see threshold for application of leverage ratio increased to £75bn

( November 12, 2025, 10:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Major UK banks, building societies and investment firms will see the retail deposits threshold for application of the Leverage Ratio increased from £50 billion to £75 billion starting from Jan. 1, 2026, the Prudential Regulation Authority said Wednesday. The Leverage Ratio is an indicator of solvency that divides firms’ capital resources by the value of their exposures without adjusting for risk.
