EU's revised sustainability reporting rules are unlawful, experts say

( November 10, 2025, 09:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU’s effort to simplify its sustainability reporting rules violates EU law and could face legal challenges, more than 100 European law professors and lawyers said on Monday in a letter to the European Parliament's JURI Committee on Legal Affairs. The process, which parliament is due to put to a vote on Thursday, lacked a proper impact assessment and public consultation and breached the EU principle of proportionality, they said. The JURI committee must seek a formal opinion from its Legal Service before proceeding, they added.Letter attached....
