EU money-laundering oversight needs stronger coordination, report finds

( October 22, 2025, 15:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Banking Authority said Wednesday that the EU’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing cooperation framework has strengthened cross-border supervisory cooperation but still falls short on key objectives. Forums that bring together supervisors overseeing cross-border institutions, known as AML/CFT colleges, have yet to fully adopt a risk-based approach and to hold systematic, meaningful discussions to coordinate actions.
